Janet was lucky in her business career to have had two wonderful mentors, but she never had the advantage of a coach, someone who was there just for her, without any agenda other than her wellbeing and development. She might not have made different decisions, but she believes a coach would have helped her lead with greater ease, self-awareness, intention and confidence, with positive spillovers to her teams.

Today, the pace of change and the demands on leadership are greater than ever. Leadership also is a privilege – an opportunity for impact and to make a difference. Our world is hungry for authentic leadership, and Janet’s purpose is to support leaders to understand and express themselves better; to free themselves from default settings of limiting beliefs and perspectives; and to muscle-build their own capacity for resiliency, courage, and a stronger sense of purpose.

Janet is a marketing, innovation and strategy consultant and former consumer packaged goods executive with 20+ years experience in top companies with iconic brands, leading teams with award-winning product innovation and break-through advertising and promotion campaigns. She has supported teams through mergers, acquisitions, and culture transformations – the thrills of record-breaking years, and the lows of budget cuts and staffing shortages.

In addition to an executive background in the corporate world, she has decades of experience in the public sector in board leadership and governance, including two years teaching business at the college level. As a result, Janet understands both public and private sectors. She understands how organizations work, how they are changing, and how to build performance in times of uncertainty and rapid change. She has coached an array of leaders from entry level to heads of companies. Janet believes in the power of people, of kindness, positive energy, empathy, and encouragement, and brings a safe and non-judgmental space to her coaching practice. A two-times cancer survivor, and single mother to a differently abled dependent adult daughter, Janet has a richly lived life experience. She has a special interest in neurodiversity and mental health, and is a passionate advocate for inclusion and diversity. She is a past Board President of Autism Ontario and has also held board leadership roles in the Child Welfare and Education sectors. She is a recipient of several volunteer awards from the Province of Ontario.
