If you want to find the secrets of the universe, think in terms of energy, frequency, vibration.

One question has quietly shaped every chapter of Dr. Komal Smriti's life — through academia, corporate leadership, cross-cultural work, and motherhood: what truly lies beneath the surface of things? — and it remains at the heart of how she works with leaders today. She believes that much of what makes leadership difficult is generated internally: in the stories we tell, the identities we protect, and the distance between who we are and how we show up. Her conviction is that leaders grow not by acquiring more answers, but by learning to ask better questions — of their work, their teams, and themselves. Sustainable leadership, in her view, is an inside-out process: one that requires both the courage to look honestly at patterns and the compassion to meet what is found there. When people begin to understand themselves more deeply, their relationships, choices, and ways of being in the world begin to shift naturally.
Komal's coaching style is grounded, relational, and unhurried — drawing on evidence-based psychology, somatic awareness, philosophical inquiry, and a systemic view of leadership to bring both structure and spaciousness to her work. She partners with executives, senior professionals, and change-makers navigating complexity, working with the whole person, not just the professional. Guided by the values of excellence, grace, and integrity, she creates space for leaders to slow down, see clearly, and move from reactive patterns toward intentional, lasting impact.
Before entering the coaching profession full-time in 2018, Komal spent over 14 years in corporate roles, including within the Global Mobility industry, where she first noticed the gap between standard cultural training and what leaders and expatriates actually needed to thrive in new environments. She responded by designing a culturally-informed coaching program grounded in real expatriate experience — an early expression of the practitioner she would become. That work catalysed a deeper commitment to coaching, and since then she has partnered with senior leaders and teams across a range of complex, global organizations — bringing the same culturally-aware, human-centred approach that has defined her practice from the beginning.
Komal holds a PhD in Relationship Marketing and an MBA in Business Management, complemented by advanced coaching credentials — PCC with the International Coaching Federation, Senior Practitioner with the European Mentoring and Coaching Council, and certification in a range of leadership and psychometric assessments. She is an associate trainer and mentor supervisor, supporting emerging coaches on their certification journeys. Beyond her practice, she serves on the boards of the ICF Toronto Chapter and Common Compass, and volunteers as a coach with Up With Women and LEAP | Pecaut Centre for Social Impact.
